Is the O-Train running right now?

YES, PROBABLY

Last recorded 2026-09-15: OC Transpo's public alerts page lists no O-Train disruptions right now. That's "nothing posted", not "trains confirmed moving" — we have no live arrivals feed, so confirm on octranspo.com before you leave.

Questions people actually type into Google

Is the O-Train running today?

The verdict at the top is read from OC Transpo's public service-alerts page (refreshed about hourly) plus a short list of hand-checked known issues. “Yes, probably” means OC Transpo has posted no disruption for any O-Train line; “Sort of” means an active alert is posted and its text is shown; “Absolutely not” is reserved for confirmed shutdowns. We do not have OC Transpo's real-time vehicle feed, so this is what they have posted, not what a train is doing this second.

What hours does O-Train Line 1 run?

In the current schedule period Line 1 (Confederation Line) runs weekdays from about 4:59 AM to 1:03 AM (after midnight), about every 4 min during the day; Saturdays 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM (after midnight); Sundays 8:00 AM to 11:02 PM. Those are planned times from OC Transpo's published GTFS timetable — see the Line 1 page for the full table.

What is the R1 bus?

R1 is the replacement bus service OC Transpo runs along the Line 1 corridor whenever the train is cancelled, stopping at or near each station between Blair and Tunney’s Pasture. The R1 notice is permanently posted on OC Transpo’s alerts page as a conditional (“R1 replaces Line 1 WHEN service is cancelled”); we treat that boilerplate as a standing notice, not as evidence the train is down.

Why does Line 1 have so many problems?

Line 1 opened in September 2019 and has had repeated wheel, axle and door issues, a 2021 derailment, and a public inquiry. In January 2026 metal flaking was found in wheel cartridge bearing assemblies, which forced months of single-car trains; double-car weekday service returned in mid-June 2026 while the bearing replacement program continues. This site tracks posted disruptions day by day so you can point at the receipts.

Does this site show live bus arrival times?

No. OC Transpo’s real-time GTFS-RT feed needs an API key we were never granted, and there is no public page to scrape arrival predictions from. Every route and stop page instead shows the planned first and last trip, typical frequency and days of service from OC Transpo’s published schedule, plus any posted alerts for that route. For live arrivals use octranspo.com or the Transit app.

Where do OC Transpo service alerts come from here?

From OC Transpo’s own public alerts page (plan.octranspo.com/plan/Alerts), fetched about once an hour and shown verbatim with the affected routes linked. Standing notices — fare rules, request-a-stop instructions, event-shuttle boilerplate — are listed separately so they don’t masquerade as disruptions.

What is this?

octranspo.org is an unofficial companion for a transit system currently held together with Confederation Line optimism. We tried to get access to OC Transpo's real-time GTFS-RT feed and never got a key — so there are no live vehicle-arrival times here. Instead we read OC Transpo's public alerts page for detours and disruptions, keep a short list of hand-verified known issues, and are honest about what we can't show rather than making something up. Schedules and every route, stop, and station come from OC Transpo's public GTFS feed. No trip planner, no PRESTO balance, no login. Cross-reference with the real site before anything important.

Schedule data covers 20260910 to 20261010 (feed S1000517).
